Struggling

Hello, my name is Shanah and I have had a love for photography for as long as I remember. I am the happiest when I have my camera in my hand and enjoy landscape photography equally to portrait photography. For years (back in the days of film) I only used manual mode (actually I only owned a manual camera) and I felt so confident in my work and I never questioned anything I did and only worked towards always taking a better picture than before. Then I went to work for a cookie cutter portrait studio, you know the ones, the fast food of portrait studios. I worked in one for 3 years and because everything was set up for us (we only had to change our lighting when needed) I left feeling very inadequate in todays photography. I now own a DSLR and I can't remember how to do anything in manual mode and I am struggling with this. I have slowly been getting back in the groove of it but I still feel inadequate. I know I take decent portraits but I know I am no where near where I should and could be. I love what I do and could never see my life with out photography in it. I have even went as far as getting a name for my business and having a fan page on facebook but I have not branched out to booking clients and actually making money for my work. For now I have only done friends and family while trying to better myself. They all love what I do for them but I know I could do so much more. I just need to get over all my self doubt, which is where I am struggling. 

Anyway, that is where I am at for now.
